Catch Up Time
Okay, seeing as August 2007 was the last posting, we have quite a bit of catching up to do. The photos, videos, and tid bits are all over the place, so I will not even attempt to put the items in chronological order but all happened sometime in 2007 (and maybe even a few from 2008).

Run, Baby, Run
Kelly completed her 2nd 5k race on Friday, June 8th. She did a wonderful job, although by 2 1/2 miles, she was ready to hang up her running shoes. The post race party with snow cones, a giant inflatable water slide, and pizza convinced her to reconsider her early retirement.

Polar Express Pajama PartyApproximately 100 students and 10 adults participated in the annual kindergarten Polar Express Pajama Party. Each week the kindergarten students learn about a new letter of the alphabet. As a culminating activity for the letter P, student wore pajamas for the day, ate popcorn, read and watched movie of the story Polar Express. As per the story, Santa came and gave each of the children a bell. These types of multi-layered educational programs help students develop a deeper understanding of concepts. “I liked wearing my pajamas to school and reading the Polar Express,” said kindergartner Tatum MacLaren. “It was exciting getting a bell from Santa! He really came while we were at lunch!”
(I was suprised to find that Tate had been interviewed and quoted in a city wide newsletter and that she had forgotten to tell me about it--you would think one day that I would grow used to life with Tatum).
